Why did Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes break up?
Reportedly, in late 2021, Shawn “initiated the conversation” to end their relationship. Camila, on the other hand, is said to have “agreed” with him despite being “very upset” with their division.
The couple insisted that their split was friendly when they made their statement at the time via their individual Instagram Stories.
The “Stitches” singer and former member of Fifth Harmony said, “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We will always be best friends, just as we were when we first started dating.
Afterward, Shawn and Camila talked candidly about their challenging split. Shawn clarified that he had to deal with the fallout from their breakup in an Instagram video.
“For example, who should I call while I’m having a panic attack? When I feel like I’m about to lose it, who should I call? Shawn mentioned. “That, I believe, is the truth that sort of hit me: ‘Oh, I’m on my own now.’”
Regarding the “Bam Bam” singer, she talked about how she was coping with their breakup in an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe.
“Throughout my life, my priorities have changed and my focus has shifted,” Camila stated in 2022. “I believe that as I get older, my priorities change. And it seemed to be that way for us both. We are truly learning how to be healthy adults because we both began so young. And sometimes that means putting other things ahead of your career. And it’s alright.”
