What happened at the press conference?

The British broadcaster was shot into the limelight this week when she hosted the Fury vs Wilder press conference, and a whole load of drama went down.

It all started when Fury and Wilder got into a heated argument, to which Kate then encouraged them to face off right there on stage.

Boxing promoter Bob Arum wasn’t happy about her decision and quickly shot up and yelled at them not to face off.

In an interview, he then slammed Kate, saying: “They bring this woman in from the UK and she’s slanting all the press conference to Wilder. Like, I don’t give a damn but it’s obvious that that’s what she was doing.”

“And then she knew that the understanding was no face-off. Tom Brown argued with Fox for no face-off, we said no face-off, and what does she say? “Now we’re gonna do a face-off.” F*** her and f*** them, there was no face-off and we saved the fight,” he continued.

Kate then hit back at him on Instagram, writing: “With regards to the face off, I was doing what we, the broadcaster, believed was agreed upon. But I think that’s kind of unimportant now.”

“I have nothing but respect for Bob Arum and the empire he has created. I understand what he means to boxing and what this sport owes him. I think the language in his interview was entirely inappropriate,” she continued.

She then added that it’s “disappointing to be disrespected by someone I respect” but said: “That’s life, not everyone will give you the courtesy you deserve.”
