It is actress Angel Laketa Moore who came up with the viral Margarita song on her Here’s the Thing podcast.
In a recent episode of her podcast, the Fifty Shades of Black actress was going through the list of topics she was going to discuss that day.
On the list was the viral video of a preacher named Sister Cindy talking to students at Louisiana State University. She was discussing the topic of abstinence with young teens and tweens. The preacher’s viral video sees her shouting, “If you buy her one margarita, she will spread her legs.” Sister Cindy is referring to women who are sexually freer than others.
When Angel Laketa heard the line she was struck with inspiration. The 42-year-old said, “Give me a beat Kevin,” and started rapping.
Wired notes producers Steve Terrell and Carl Dixon aka Casa Di added fresh beats to the song. Now there are two versions of it one short and one long. The official version of the song is also available on Spotify and Apple Music now. It is almost 2 minutes long.
