Some parents with students in the Davenport Community School District are upset, receiving bills for school fees they didn’t know they owed.

The fees cover textbooks, Chromebooks and other resources students rent throughout the school year, and parents say some of these fees date back to when their students were in elementary school, even for those currently in high school. As Our Quad Cities News reporter Victoria Frazier discovered, many parents say they’re struggling to pay the fees and are worried this may affect their students’ opportunity to actively participate in graduation.
