Nutrition Kids

Our Nutrition Kids are helping us spread the word about healthy eating throughout the month of March.

Anne Arundel County Macaroni KID publishers will feature Nutrition Kids on our Facebook pages throughout March.  You can also hear some of our Nutrition Kids on WRNR, 103.1 on Thursdays, sponsored by Himmel’s Landscape & Garden Center in Pasadena.

Meet Gabby

She shares why her favorite fruit, strawberries, are nutritious.

Fun fact: Strawberries, like most berries, are a low-glycemic fruit, making them a tasty option for people looking to control or reduce their glucose levels.

Our first Nutrition Kid is Gabby from the Annapolis Boys & Girls Club, and her favorite fruit is strawberries. Gabby tells us that strawberries are full of vitamins (one-cup portion of strawberries contains over 100% of the daily minimum target for immune-supporting vitamin C!), minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.

Her family loves to make strawberry muffins with her favorite fruit. Check out this healthy strawberry muffin recipe:
