The ghosts of SURvers past include Laura-Leigh, Faith Stowers, and Vail Bloom, among others. Cameras began following the staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant SUR in 2012 after she rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Season 1 premiered in January 2013 and starred Lisa, Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, Kristen Doute, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, Tina McDowelle, Peter Madrigal, Laura-Leigh, Frank Herlihy, Mike Shay, Kristina Kelly Jen Bush and Jeremy Davidson in recurring roles. By season 3 several faces had come and gone with Schwartz being upgraded to a full-time cast member. Ariana Madix and James Kennedy also became official cast members while Lala Kent, Faith, and Brittany Cartwright were first featured in Season 4.

Jax told Us Weekly exclusively in November 2018 that “You can all tell that we’re very much evolving so it’s almost like grown-up fighting now as opposed to high school fighting […] for the most part it’s getting into adult fighting now.” Season 8 saw several new additions to the cast including Dayna Kathan, Max Boyens Brett Caprioni Danica Dow and Charli Burnett. Stassi’s then-fiancé Beau Clark and James’ then-girlfriend Raquel Leviss were also featured more heavily.

Katie told Us in November 2019 ahead of the season 8 premiere that “When we started this show it was our real group of best friends […] [the newcomers] have just met at SUR; they didn’t know each other before so it’s kinds of interesting. It’s a different dynamic because they didn’t have the history that we have. So you can’t really compare us to them.” However,Vanderpump Rules underwent a major cast shakeup in 2020 after it was confirmed that Stassi, Kristen, Jax, Brittany, Max, Brett, Danica and Dayna wouldn’t be back for Season 9. In addition to the cast shakeup, the show also didn’t film at all in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and returned in September 2021.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright

After the couple announced their departure from Vanderpump Rules in late 2020, Brittany suggested that it was not their decision to leave. Many fans had demanded Jax’s dismissal following the backlash over Stassi and Kristen’s departures. “Do you guys really think we were allowed to write whatever we wanted?” Brittany asked on Instagram in response to fans pointing out similarities between her and Jax’s farewell statements. The couple welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021 and celebrated their second wedding anniversary that June.

Stassi Schroeder

After being fired due to racially insensitive remarks from her past, Stassi faced consequences such as losing numerous endorsement deals and her podcast, “Straight Up With Stassi,” while she was pregnant. However, her personal life remained successful as she married Beau in a backyard celebration in September of 2020. In January of 2021, Stassi gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Hartford. The couple launched their Patreon channel, “The Good The Bad The Baby,” that March and later returned with “Straight Up With Stassi” in 2022. They then exchanged vows for a second time in Rome in May of 2022 with Hartford serving as their flower girl. In March of 2023, Schroeder announced that she is expecting her second child.

Kristen Doute

Bravo severed its ties with Kristen after her comments about Faith resurfaced in 2020, along with Stassi. In June 2022, it was reported that Kristen and Alex Menache had broken up. Six months later, Kristen confirmed that she is now dating Luke Broderick, cohost of the “Sex, Love and What Else Matters” podcast.

Dani Shae

The former SUR employee gave birth to her first child, a son named Rome, in November 2022. Dani, who wed beau Nassim Joseph in May 2020, wrote via Instagram that it was “complete bliss.” Kent celebrated the little one’s arrival on Instagram Stories by writing: “My soul sister has become a mother. The process was different than planned but in those moments, the game plan becomes simple — keep the mother and baby healthy and safe. Welcome to the world, Rome. Danielle, I am so proud of you. I am so happy for you. What a beautiful life and family you have created. You deserve it all.”

Dayna Kathan

After one full season as a cast member, the comedian announced in April 2021 that she would not be returning for Season 9. In a statement at the time, she said, “It was a tough decision for me but ultimately the right one. I’m grateful for the experience and wish everyone on the show all the best!” According to her LinkedIn profile, Dayna is now Director of Sales at Medication Review, Inc.

Max Boyens

In May 2021, US confirmed that Max had resigned from his position at TomTom nearly one year after being terminated due to his past offensive tweets. Max, who resides in San Diego, now serves as the Chief Financial Officer at UNA MÁS Cocktails.

Danica Dow

The SUR assistant and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brett Willis, who was also briefly featured on the show, called it quits in August 2020. After she was granted a temporary restraining order against him, Brett released a statement to E! News: “I want to handle this amicably. We got into an argument at a house party. We were around many of her girlfriends and I’m sure it looked like I was the bad guy.

It wasn’t physical, but it was an aggressive argument on both sides. For me, I would like her to retract everything. We work at the same establishment, and I want us to be able to work together professionally and amicably. Our relationship was toxic, and it’s not there anymore. I still love her, but I also have to look out for myself.” In response, Danica told the outlet: “Brett’s version of events is a complete lie. Brett kept trying to follow me around the party into different rooms and harass me.”

Laura-Leigh

Laura-Leigh, who became well-known for leaving SUR after landing a role in the Jennifer Aniston movie We’re the Millers and breaking up with Jax following her time in AA, has pursued acting since then. She appeared on The Client List and in several short films before making a guest appearance on a season 10 episode of Blue Bloods. Katie remains in contact with Laura-Leigh and frequently sees selfies of her online through Instagram.

Vail Bloom

After brief romances with Peter Madrigal and Jax, the hostess of SUR quit the restaurant and returned to her acting roots, starring in a series of independent films. Although her personal life hit a rough patch in 2019 when she filed a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Hayes Stuppy, Vail has also become a mother. While the soap opera veteran has yet to publicly reveal the father of her children, she welcomed daughter Charlie Olivia Grace Bloom in 2018 and a son in 2020.

Faith Stowers

After Brittany found out that Jax had cheated on her with Faith, the latter not only stormed out of the club but also left the network for MTV. In February 2020, Faith added “mother” to her résumé when she welcomed a son with boyfriend Marcio Marchena II. She has made headlines for being the only person of color to have a prominent role on Vanderpump Rules.

Via Instagram Live in June 2020, Faith said: “It was a lot … They wanted to attack me instead of him. They wanted to attack, attack, attack, attack, attack. I was wrong, I was this, I was that, calling me names, saying my hair was nappy, which is weird coming out of their mouths.” She also expressed disappointment about not getting the chance to film any confessionals for season 4. “It could be different on their end but in my opinion,” she said: “I thought it was weird that everybody on the show got to do interviews and confessionals and I didn’t even get a chance to do that — to tell my story. Which was a very interesting story being a black woman in the military at the time.

At the time I was still in the army…I didn’t feel like they appreciated that.” Besides appearing on Ex on the Beach and The Challenge shows, Faith became a mother earlier this year and is continuing her career at MTV after leaving Vanderpump Rules.

Carmen Dickman

Jax’s former girlfriend runs a cooking blog titled Cooking for Everyone, and she relocated to Puerto Rico after appearing in a single season of the Bravo series. In September 2020, she announced her engagement to Barret, and early in 2021, the couple welcomed their first child. “Our lives changed forever on January 14th at 2:33 pm 🥰 It has been precisely one week since our little girl arrived in this world, and we can’t imagine how we managed without her,” she shared on Instagram. “To all the parents who told us ‘It’s a love you can’t describe,’ you were absolutely correct. Penelope 💕, welcome to the world.”

Kristina Kelly

The former SURver remains close with Stassi and frequently appears on her “Straight Up With Stassi” podcast. Kristina, who travels the world with her longtime boyfriend Max, sells homemade lip balm and facial spray on Etsy.

She made a comeback to Vanderpump Rules for season 10, which was aired in 2023. In October 2022, Kristina disclosed that she was “hiding a big secret” – her pregnancy. On March 15, 2023, she gave birth to her son River.

Tina McDowelle

While Tina had a full-time role in season 1, she took a backseat when the show returned for season 2. Although she continued to pursue a career in singing and acting after leaving SUR, Tina hit pause to recover after being shot in Los Angeles on Black Friday in November 2019. “The bullet collapsed my lung, severely lacerated my liver, punctured my diaphragm, broke my ribs, and exited out of my back.

I almost died. And a part of me definitely did,” she wrote on a GoFundMe fundraiser page. “To the doctors who saved my life… THANK YOU! I’m in awe of your compassion and genius. To the nurses who held my hand when I couldn’t take the pain… THANK YOU so much. You’re my ANGELS.”

Mike Shay

After his split from Scheana, her ex-husband was no longer featured on the show. However, in January 2020, the singer of “Good As Gold” informed Andy Cohen that she had been in contact with him over the years. “He’s doing okay,” she said at the time. “I mean, I think he’s still trying to figure things out, but he’s content and doing well.”

Adam Spott

In September 2019, Scheana confirmed that she had officially ended things with Adam and that the bar-back had quit his job at the West Hollywood restaurant. It is unclear if he still keeps in touch with the penguin that Scheana bought him before their split, but he does have a longtime girlfriend named Gabbie Owens.

Jen Bush

While working at SUR, Jen and Jeremy welcomed their son Kingston in 2013. Kingston made a brief appearance on the Bravo series. After her split from Jeremy, Jen married Steve Shea in March 2021 and had a daughter named Michelina in July 2021. She also creates and sells craft kits, hair accessories, and gift baskets online.

Jeremy Davidson

Jeremy coparents Kingston with Jen and works in business development for Tao Group Hospitality.

Bille Lee

After an eventful season 7, Billie Lee resigned from her job at SUR and claimed that she was subjected to bullying by her colleagues. In a statement released in July 2019, she wrote, “The bullying, both on and off camera, caused my deep-seated insecurities to surface. It was like a dark mirror being held up for everyone to see and judge.” She further added, “Now I have the chance to enlighten and motivate others through my activism work and new ventures that are taking shape. Each day presents an opportunity to reclaim your aspirations, embrace your journey, and live the life you’ve always desired. You’re never too old or ‘too gay’, and it’s never too late for a fresh start.”

Rob Valletta

Us broke the news in April 2019 that Rob had a new girlfriend after his relationship with Scheana ended. “With Heather, there’s no drama, no anything. It really is just an easy thing,” said the host of This Is LA at the time. He also noted that Heather is likely “the one” and added, “She makes my life better by just being in it.”

Frank Herlihy

Frank, who started dating Stassi during season 1 after her breakup with Jax, was fired from his job at SUR after he was allegedly rude to a customer. Stassi later revealed on her podcast that Frank was the one who allegedly tried to sell a sex tape of her to TMZ for $900. While he has gone quiet on social media, the Next Level Basic author said on “Straight Up With Stassi” that two fans told her that Frank was living in New York in 2018. “They were like ‘He’s up living in the middle of nowhere New York state and working at a deli,’” Stassi said.

Jenna Willis

Scheana’s bestie was in the background on several seasons of Vanderpump Rules, but she got more attention during season 4 when she hooked up with James during his relationship with Kristen. Jenna has since shifted her attention to her training business.
