Glenn Jacobs has had an interesting run in the WWF/E. He came in as the vengeance-seeking brother of The Undertaker, one of the most beloved characters in the history of pro wrestling. Before that, he was the Dentist, and that was another character that was only meant for a short run.

He has really surpassed every expectation I had for him. I figured after WM14, he was gone. I thought Taker would slay another giant, and that would be it. Somehow, the character remained popular. I think the First Blood match with Steve Austin at King of the Ring 1998 really helped him stay above water.

But I don't think Glenn Jacobs has done anything overly impressive to make me believe he is more special than someone like Luke Gallows. Kane was a hell of a lot more muscular in 1997/98 than Gallows has ever been, but size is the only difference I can see. When the Kane character appeared, he didn't need to cut promos or anything like that, he had Paul Bearer. I think Glenn improved over time, and can now stand on his own two feet.

Glenn came into the perfect character, and that character continued to be booked pretty well after Mania 14. In all honesty, I don't know how much credit can go to Glenn Jacobs. He was a monster who wore a mask, and if Gallows had been in a position similar to that of Jacobs, it might have worked out for him as well. I give Jacobs credit for sticking around, but he really isn't anything special.
