Claim to Fame season 2 star Hugo was revealed to be President Jimmy Carter’s grandson after incorrectly guessing that Chris’ celebrity relative was Elton John, and he now shares that he’s dating one of his fellow contestants. Hugo, whose full name is Hugo Wentzel, is the son of President Carter and his wife Rosalynn’s daughter, Amy. He joins a long list of contestants whose A-list celebrity relatives have been uncovered, including Carly (Tom Hanks’ niece), Travis (Neil deGrasse Tyson’s son), Jane (Dolly Parton’s niece Jada Star), Shayne (Eddie Murphy’s daughter), Cole (Alicia Keys’ brother), and Olivia (Jenny McCarthy’s niece).

In an interview with People, Hugo revealed that he’s dating his fellow Claim to Fame season 2 contestant, Olivia Aquilina. Hugo said of his relationship with Olivia, who uses they/she pronouns, “It’s amazing. Olivia’s the best. I literally love Olivia. It’s crazy I got to meet them on that show.” Hugo shared that he and Olivia made a connection when filming wrapped after they realized that they had a lot in common. He said, “After [the show] we linked up, and it’s just been great.”

Hugo Gives Update On Carly After Claim To Fame Meltdown

Carly Reeves from Claim to Fame, dressed in blue

When Carly was eliminated from Claim to Fame and revealed to be Tom Hanks’ niece, she had a now-infamous meltdown. It was Hugo who had guessed her correctly, which led to her telling him that she hoped he went home. She felt betrayed because she’d shared clues with him. However, in an interview with EW, Hugo said that it’s hard to say if she’ll be happy he was eliminated because he’s texted Carly “a little bit. I think we’re closer now than we were on the show.” He added, “I didn’t think that her clues helped me, but also it really did hurt to guess her. I do like her.”

It’s very sweet that Hugo and Olivia are now in a relationship after Claim to Fame season 2. It was better that they connected after the show, considering that Shayne and Cole had begun a flirtation that ended when Cole betrayed Shayne and eliminated her by correctly guessing that she was related to Eddie Murphy. Cole went home the following week when his fellow contestants took revenge on him and correctly guessed that he was Alicia’s relative. A romance between Hugo and Olivia in the house could have interfered with their games.

Hugo was one of the most lovable Claim to Fame season 2 contestants. He was a personable and entertaining contestant, who was very fun to watch. His speech about his grandfather when he was eliminated was a true testament to his character. He shared genuine connections with his fellow Claim to Fame contestants, and has said that he thinks of them as family. Although Hugo didn’t take home the $100,000 grand prize, he gained something even more valuable, which is his relationship with Olivia.
