It’s been a big year for Netflix subscribers, with audiences being invited to tuck into a wide range of movies. However, TV is arguably still what the streamer does best.
A number of notable titles have made the rounds so far in 2022 and one of the latest to captivate audiences is Keep Breathing.
Created by Martin Gero and Brendan Gall, the survival drama series premiered on the platform on Thursday, July 28th 2022 and details the story of Liv (played by Melissa Barrera). She finds herself stuck inside a passenger plane floating down into a river, losing oxygen.
Fans tuning in may find themselves hooked, desperate to know if she’ll survive. As the series progresses, you’ll also find yourself curious about the show’s potential future. So, is Keep Breathing renewed for season 2?
Is Keep Breathing renewed for season 2?
No, Keep Breathing is not renewed for season 2 because the series was conceived as a limited series and Netflix has billed the project as such accordingly.
All six episodes of the series were added to the platform on the same day and there’s no reason to expect a seventh instalment or follow-up.
With that in mind, viewers yet to finish can expect episode 6 – titled You Are Home – to offer a definitive conclusion to Liv’s journey, rounding up loose ends that may have made a second season appear imperative.
Why not try something similar?
If you’ve raced through all six episodes and feel desperate for something to watch, why not try something similar to Keep Breathing?

‘I prepare like crazy’
You may recognise that the central star of Keep Breathing Melissa Barrera starred in the 2022 horror sequel Scream and during a conversation with Interview Magazine promoting the film she opened up about auditions and preparation for roles:
“For Vida, I auditioned. For In the Heights I auditioned. For Scream I didn’t audition. At least when you audition, you’ve earned it, and when you don’t, I almost feel worse… I prepare like crazy, I’m like a sociopath in that sense. I need to know every word.”
She added: “I get really stressed out about auditions and self-tapes. I actually have to do a self-tape and I’ve been procrastinating. I’ve just been doing everything to not do it, even though I really want that part.
Looking ahead, she’s set to reprise the role of Sam Carpenter in Scream 6 and also plays the titular part in Carmen.
Keep Breathing is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
