Growing up is hard enough without throwing ghost-hunting into the mix. Netflix’s latest series Lockwood And Co combines the troubles of coming of age with the heavy responsibility of saving the world. The series brings with it some fresh faces, so who is Ali Hadji-Heshmati, from his age to his previous roles?
The latest from the streaming service is based on a book series of the same name by the author Jonathon Stroud.
Set in a London ruled by adult-operated organizations and corrupt corporations, three teens band together to defeat ghosts, and uncover the truth about ‘The Problem’ – a paranormal event that shook the nation, leaving ghouls and ghosts in its wake.
Anthony Lockwood, the founder of the teen ghost-hunting agency Lockwood And Co, works passionately with his best pal George, and their new powerful friend Lucy, to unravel the truth and get to the bottom of ‘The Problem’.
George Casper Karim in Lockwood & Co
George Casper Karmin, also known as George Cubbins, is a ghost hunter and Anthony Lockwood’s second in command. He has dark-brown hair in the series and wears glasses.
The character is extremely intelligent and certainly the brains of the trio, always opting for research over impulsive action. He is obsessed with ‘The Problem’, intent on figuring out the mysteries surrounding the event.
As for his skills, in comparison to his comrades, George is more of a well-rounded ghost hunter. Although he does possess the ability of ‘sight’ (the power to see ghosts) and the talent of ‘touch’ (the power to feel ghosts), he is much less powerful than Lucy and Anthony.
However, what he lacks in intense ability he makes up for in intelligence and critical thinking. George is the planner and researcher of the trio, keeping Lucy and Lockwood grounded.
Meet actor Ali Hadji-Heshmati
According to Celebs Week, Ali Hadji-Heshmati was born on June 15, 1999. The 23-year-old British actor is more than several years older than his Netflix counterpart, 15-year-old George. He was only 20 years of age when he secured his first acting role.
Little else is known about the actor. Ali does take to social media quite often to share pictures from his life and his work.

It’s clear the cast is close from Ali’s recent Instagram post. The star took to social media to share some lovely behind-the-scenes snaps from his time spent working on the Netflix series.
As the caption states: “Ruby made me and Cameron a photo album with some of the photos she took on set. Here are a few.” The photo album includes many smile shots of Ali on set, with his costars.
Ali’s previous roles explored
Prior to his leading role in the Netflix ghost-hunting series, the actor starred in a couple of other productions. Ali played the role of Warren in the smash hit British comedy TV series Bad Education, starring alongside Jack Whitehall. He appeared in five episodes of the show as a somewhat reoccurring character.
UK viewers may also recognize him from his performance as Abs Raza in the BBC drama Holby City.
The young actor also secured a role in the spy thriller series Alex Rider. Ali played the role of Jahid in only one episode of the series.
As for his future roles, there’s no doubt Ali will be on our screens once again. However, as of right now, the actor has no confirmed upcoming productions.
