JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) resmi merilis skutik terbarunya, yakni generasi terbaru dari All New BeAT series.
Terdapat beberapa perubahan, termasuk di sektor jantung pacunya. Namun, secara segmen masih masuk ke dalam jajaran skutik 110 cc.
Mesin terbaru ini memang mengalami sedikit peningkatan. Sebelumnya, BeAT dibekali dengan mesin berkapasitas 108,2 cc, dengan ukuran diameter x langkah, 50 mm x 55,1 mm. Mesin ini menghasilkan tenaga sebesar 6,38 kW pada 7.500 rpm dan torsi 9,01 N.m pada 6.500 rpm.
Sedangkan pada mesin terbaru, kapasitasnya naik menjadi 109,5 cc, dengan ukuran diameter x langkah, 47 mm x 63,1 mm. Tenaga yang dihasilkan mencapai 6,6 kW pada 7.500 rpm dan torsi 9,3 Nm pada 5.500 rpm.

Rasio kompresi juga meningkat dari 9,5:1 menjadi 10:1. Konsumsi bahan bakar diklaim mampu mencapai 60,6 kilometer per liter, dengan jarak tempuh 254,52 km.
Dengan hasil di atas, Thomas Wijaya, Direktur Pemasaran AHM, mengatakan, telah melakukan survey dan riset kepada konsumen. Hasilnya, penggunaan mesin 110 cc ini masih diminati.
"Sebab, secara performa, keiritan bahan bakar, dan fungsionalitasnya sudah didapat dari performa mesin 110 cc ini. Maka dari itu, kami melakukan pengembangan dari sisi desain dan penambahan fitur-fitur," ujar Thomas, kepada wartawan, saat peluncuran generasi terbaru All New BeAT series, di Jakarta, Kamis (16/1/2020).
Thomas menambahkan, walaupun menggunakan mesin 110 cc, tapi konsumen dapat menikmati fitur yang memang diperlukan dan sesuai dengan kebutuhannya.
Sementara, kompetitor terdekatnya, Yamaha, sudah beberapa tahun meninggalkan penggunaan mesin berkapasitas 110 cc dan beralih ke 125 cc. Bahkan, untuk skutik entry level-nya sekalipun.
Untuk model Vario pun, tipe 110 cc juga sudah disetop produksinya sejak Desember 2019. Honda mengaku ingin lebih fokus memasarkan Vario 125 dan Vario 150, bukan karena kalah bersaing dengan BeAT series.
