Taylor Swift fans think the lyrics of her new song Is It Over Now in her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album reference the singer’s infamous snowmobile accident from 2012.

Taylor Swift’s ‘near death’ snowmobile accident

In 2014 Taylor Swift shocked the world by revealing that she had been in a near-fatal snowmobile accident two years prior. The revelation came in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine (as per AZ Central).

The singer revealed she was with an ex-boyfriend when she dodged death. The snowmobile accident reportedly saw both Taylor Swift and her ex ending up in a hospital. At the time, Taylor also described the incident in her song Out of the Woods. The lyrics “Remember when you hit the brakes too soon/Twenty stitches in a hospital room” left an impact on fans.

The singer, who was 22 at the time of the accident, told the magazine that she was “not as hurt” after the accident. But it was a different story for her ex-beau.

Taylor was allegedly with Harry Styles during the accident

Taylor was gracious enough to not reveal the identity of her ex-boyfriend who had been in the snowmobile accident with her. However, many speculate that it was none other than Harry Styles.

The Grammy winners dated for three months in 2012. They were first spotted together in November of that year. Hence the timing of their romance got many thinking the ex involved in the accident was none other than Harry.

Talking about the accident, Taylor also revealed that, while she escaped the accident relatively unscathed, her ex-boyfriend had to get 20 stitches.

HITC and GRV Media have reached out to both Taylor and Harry for comments on the above claims.

Is It Over Now lyrics explained

Taylor released five From The Vault (aka brand new) songs in 1989 (TV). One of the songs is named Is It Over Now. Those who listened to the lyrics of the track are convinced that the songstress has once again referenced the snowmobile accident.

It is mainly the lyrics – “Whеn you lost control (Uh-huh)/ Red blood, white snow (Uh-huh)/ Blue dress on a boat (Uh-huh)/ Your new girl is my clone” that are making fans believe it. Many took to Twitter to comment on what they had just heard.

Ok we kinda new there would be a snowmobile accident reference 😭
