Eric Perkins is a well-known American journalist and reporter, best known as an announcer for KARE 11. In November 1966, he joined the KARE 11 team for the first time. He is also known to be the son of news reporter, presenter, and pundit Jack Perkins. Eric garnered a lot of attention as a sports reporter when he developed Perk at Play in the winter of 1997. Perk got to try everything during the hands-on part. To mention a few, ski jumping, bullfighting, driving a car in a demolition derby, and playing baseball for the St. Paul Saints. The show even won some accolades, including an Emmy. During his career, he also received the National Community Empowerment Award. He made the decision to leave KARE 11 after a 25-year hiatus. Eric Perkins, who has worked for NBC affiliate KARE 11 in the Twin Cities for the past 25 years, said his final goodbyes on Sunday night (July 8, 2021).

Eric Perkins originally became a staff member of KARE 11 in November 1966. Perk at Play, which he devised in the winter of 1997, garnered much attention. He was hired as a night sportscaster and sports director at KARE in 2012. He was also a sportscaster and reporter for WHBQ-TV for about three years at the time.
In addition, he was also a morning radio host for 96.3 K-TWIN. Amazingly, he was a content contributor for AirVuz LLC and was also the host of 94.1 The Loon KKLN-FM.
