Elden Ring’s Grand Lift of Rold: How To Reach Mountaintop of the Giants

In Elden Ring, players can reach the Mountaintop of the Giants by using the Grand Lift of Rold. Before players can access this elusive area in the Lands Between, they will need to obtain the Rold Medallion to unlock the larger Eastern region, and they will need both pieces of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to unlock the Western region. The Mountaintop of the Giants in Elden Ring is a difficult late-game location, so players should be appropriately leveled before they attempt to explore this dangerous terrain. Additionally, this area is home to difficult bosses and side quests. While some of the optional bosses may be challenging, there are lucrative rewards to be found.

To find the Rold Medallions, players will need to progress through the game until they reach Leyndell, the Royal Capital. Once there, players will need to defeat the boss Morgott, the Omen King. To make this fight easier, players may want to use the Mimic Tear Spirit Ash Summon or opt for the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War in Elden Ring. After players successfully defeat Morgott, the Omen King, they should speak with Melina to receive the Rold Medallion.

Once players have acquired the Rold Medallion, they can travel Northeast through the Forbidden Lands until they reach the Grand Lift of Rold Site of Grace. On this route, players will encounter a Kindred boss, which they can either fight or evade. At the Site of Grace, players should climb the stairs to the lift. Once at the top, players will find two large guardian statues wielding spears. The ground in front of the statues is marked with a circle, and players should stand in the circle to select “Hoist Medallion” and use the Rold Medallion to arrive at the Mountaintops of the Giants.

Elden Ring: Reaching the Western area in the Mountaintops of the Giants

To reach the Western area of this region, players will need to obtain the two pieces of the Haligtree Secret Medallion in Elden Ring and use them at the Grand Lift of Rold. To find the right half of this medallion, players should travel to the Lirunia of the Lakes: Village of the Albinauries, which can be found in the Southwest of the Liurnia region. Once there, players should travel the path from the Site of Grace and quickly pass the fire-wielding enemy. Players should spot a barrel, which they should circle until an NPC reveals himself from the barrel. Players will need to talk to this NPC until he gives them the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right). Of note, players may need to speak with this NPC repeatedly to receive their prize.

To find the left half of the medallion, players will need to begin in the Eastern part of the Mountaintop of the Giants. After taking the Grand Lift in Elden Ring to reach this location, players should head North and follow the cliffs until they reach Castle Sol. At this location, players will need to defeat Commander Niall. After this enemy is defeated, players should follow the hidden path behind where he stood, and this path will lead them to the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left).

Once players have both the right and left halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, they can return to the Grand Lift of Rold. Displaying the completed medallion to the statues will allow players to access the Western area of the Mountaintop of the Giants.
