But what’s the best way to make one that doesn’t take hours?

One social media user has shared her lazy trick to create a gem-filled paper crown – and it couldn’t be easier as all you need is a paper plate.

TikTok account Home Is Where The Art Is, aka @home_is_where_the_art_is, shares “fun and simple art ideas for little crafters.”

And in a video shared by the keen crafter, she revealed her step-by-step tutorial guide to getting “an easy paper plate crown fit for a king.”

She showed that the first step was to take a simple paper plate and paint it in your chosen colour – Home Is Where The Art Is went for a bright yellow to imitate gold.

Then, the TikToker reached for a pair of scissors and cut small triangle segments from the centre, ensuring she left a decent sized border around the edge.

One that’s done, it’s time to get creative and go wild with your chosen decorations.

Home Is Where The Art Is opted for a mixture of gold stars, brightly coloured gem stars  and little colourful balls, which can all be bought cheap from places like Poundland and supermarkets.

Her next top tip was to stick your favourite decoration at the top of the triangles you’ve cut.

That means that when it comes to the next step – folding these back to create the crown look – they’re the first thing that people see.

Simply fold back the triangles until they’re firmly in their new position, and it’s ready to pop onto your child’s head.

After sharing the details of her “easy crown craft”, other parents went wild for the idea, as they said they loved how foolproof they are.

One social media user wrote: “This is brilliant – love this idea!”

Another person added: “This is a good idea.”

Meanwhile, a fellow mum typed: “We have a coronation event on Saturday and are struggling to find crowns, such a fab idea – thank you.”

As other tagged fellow parents to show them the easiest technique they’d seen yet, others said they’d wished they’d known about it before they decided to get creative.

One hinted there’s wasn’t as easy to make, as they revealed: “Why didn’t I see this an hour ago!”
