The people who killed Benjamin Eastman, a teenager, are now in prison for what they did.

On June 24, 2018, Adamson, who was 21 at the time, and Marquez took Eastman into the East Lewis County woods and told him they were going camping. Before burying him in a pit, they beat him for about 45 minutes.
Later, when the police found Eastman’s body and began looking for suspects, they dug up and reburied his body. Then, with help from their family, they went to Eastern Washington.

They supposedly dug up Eastman’s body, put it back in a shallow grave, and then ran away to Eastern Washington.
Jonathan Meyer, the prosecutor, said that Adamson started the attack. This information, along with Marquez’s age and the fact that he helped with the investigation, led to a shorter sentence for him.
Marquez and Adamson, who were 16 and 21 at the time, were camping with their 14-year-old sister, cousin, and the girlfriend of their cousin. After drinking a lot of alcohol, they forced their sister to say that Eastman had raped her 10 days earlier.
According to court records, Eastman died within a few hours.

Emma Brown, who is engaged to Jonathan Adamson, lied in 2019, pleaded guilty, and in September 2019 she was sentenced to 90 days in prison.
