Three Quad Cities residents were charged with drug-induced homicide after the death of an East Moline resident due to an opioid overdose in April.
Moline Police and Fire responded to The Residence Inn in Moline around April 18 around 1:50 a.m. after a report of an unresponsive man.
Officials located Kyle P. Medinger, 33, of East Moline, suffering from an apparent opioid overdose.
Medinger was transported to Genesis Hospital-Illini Campus for treatment and was later pronounced dead.
The Rock Island County Coroner’s Office completed an autopsy and confirmed Medinger died from an opioid overdose.
As a result of the investigation, Moline Police obtained arrest warrants for David C. Flores, 33, of Rock Island, Ashley M. Gengler, 31, of Milan and Ajayi M. McIntyre, 39, of Rock Island.
Flores was arrested on May 22 in Moline, Gengler was arrested May 22 in Milan and McIntyre was arrested May 22 in Rock Island.
All three are in the Rock Island County Jail on $250,000 bond, charged with drug-induced homicide.
The case was investigated with the assistance of Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Milan Police Department, Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Rock Island County Coroner.
